Choose when the widget opens

Decide if and when the widget opens on its own.

By default, the widget waits quietly as a call button until a visitor taps it. With auto-open, it can open on its own to greet people instead. You'll find these settings under Agent settings → Widget, in the Behaviour section.

Turning on auto-open and setting the delay in the Widget tab.
  1. 1

    Turn on Auto-open

Switch on Auto-open so the widget opens on its own when a visitor lands on your site, instead of waiting for a tap. Leave it off to keep the widget as a quiet call button.

  2. 2

    Set the delay

Use Auto-open after to choose how many seconds to wait before the widget opens. A short delay gives visitors a moment to settle in first.

Auto-open grabs attention, but can feel pushy if it's instant. A few seconds tends to feel more natural.

    Preview before you publish

Use Open live preview in the Install tab to see the open behavior exactly as visitors will, before the changes go out. New to it? See Preview your assistant.

Common questions

Can I turn auto-open off again?

Yes. Switch Auto-open off any time and the widget goes back to waiting quietly as a call button until a visitor taps it.

Does the call start on its own?

No. Auto-open only opens the widget panel. The visitor still chooses to start talking, so nobody is put on a call without tapping first.
